Changing the Way Girls

Treat Each Other

The Girlhood Project was created to meet today’s middle school girls exactly where they are, in their language, in their culture and in the social reality they navigate every single day. Our assemblies are designed like the content they already pay attention to: fast-paced, honest, TikTok-style storytelling that feels like hearing from a cool older sister who genuinely wants the best for them.

Our mission is simple:
To shift girl culture from the inside out.

We help girls understand the real impact of relational aggression, how their choices ripple through the school and how powerful they truly are when they choose kindness, inclusion and accountability. We give them tools, language, and confidence, not lectures. We show them that being a good friend is strength, not weakness. And we help them realize that they can change the room just by choosing differently.

When girls feel safe, supported, and connected, everything improves; friendships, classrooms, confidence and the overall school climate.

This is The Girlhood Project. A new way to shape culture, strengthen community, and raise a generation of girls who lift one another up.

Coping Skills Aren’t Enough

When the Environment is the Problem

For years, schools have put most of the responsibility on the girls who are being targeted; the kind ones, the sensitive ones, the quiet ones, the kids who are just trying to get through the day without being torn down.

And yes, those girls absolutely benefit from therapy, coping skills and support from school social workers. They deserve every tool available to help them navigate tough moments.

But here’s the truth:
All the coping skills in the world won’t help if a girl is walking into a social war zone every single day.

You can teach her deep breathing, journaling, reframing and boundary setting, and she will still break down in the bathroom if she’s once again left standing alone at lunch, unsure where she belongs.

You can encourage confidence, but confidence can’t compete with constant exclusion.
You can empower her, but empowerment doesn’t erase the sting of “You can’t sit here” or trauma of social isolation.

The Girlhood Project does something no other program does:
We address the source of the harm; the behavior of the girls who are doing the excluding, the whispering, the rumor spreading, the freezing out, the subtle digs and the quiet cruelty.

And we do it in a way that is direct but gentle.
Honest but compassionate.
Accountable without shaming.

There is no villainizing.
There is no calling anyone out.
Because we believe something important:

There is goodness in every girl.
Sometimes she just needs someone to remind her of it.

The Girlhood Project helps every girl: the leaders, the followers, the kind ones, the struggling ones and the ones who’ve made mistakes, understand the impact they have on the culture around them.

We don’t lecture.
We don’t blame.
We don’t shame.

We help girls see themselves clearly, choose better and step into the kind of character that makes school safer, healthier, more fun and more supportive for everyone.

This isn’t about “fixing” the hurt girls.
It’s about healing the whole environment.
